PPOD Syndrome Diagnostic Examination and Post-Examination Consultation
Individuals who suspect that they may be suffering from the effects of the mechanically induced PPOD syndrome and would like to be evaluated to confirm or rule out the presence of this disorder may schedule an examination and post-examination consultation at the Pelvic Pain and Organic Dysfunction Treatment Center with Dr. Browning. The examination and post-examination consultation are conducted separately over two consecutive days to allow Dr. Browning the opportunity to review and correlate the results of prior diagnostic studies and imaging procedures with those identified during the patient’s PPOD syndrome examination. Please refer to the section titled What You Need to Bring for Your Examination: PPOD Syndrome Examination “Checklist” for a summary of the information that you must provide before we can conduct your examination.
During day one of the examination/post-examination consultation process, all of the information provided by the patient regarding their prior diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic procedures will be collected for review and correlation with the results of their PPOD syndrome examination. A detailed history will then be developed to chronicle the evolution of the various PPOD related complaints and establish the full scope and extent of the individuals PPOD syndrome involvement. Following the acquisition of the history, a comprehensive physical and spinal examination will be performed to establish the baseline physical state of the patients condition and uncover the clinical markers that reveal the presence of the mechanically induced PPOD syndrome.
The following day during the post-examination consultation, Dr. Browning will discuss the results of the previous day’s examination and explain the relevance and significance of these findings to the patients condition and clinical state. At that time, the patient will be advised whether or not they are a PPOD syndrome patient, and a detailed explanation of the pathophysiology (mechanism) behind the production of the condition, it’s associated symptoms and its therapeutic requirements will be provided. Patients usually have many questions at this point and ample time will be given to address all of their queries and concerns.
Once it has been confirmed that the patient is, in fact, suffering from the PPOD syndrome, he or she can opt to begin their 4-week treatment rotation immediately (commencing treatment the following day), or, schedule a return trip to Northport to undergo their treatment at a later date.
